Sunday 26th July - Special Opening in conjunction with Rayleigh Windmill to celebrate the Windmill's 20th Anniversary.


Sunday, 2nd August - British Fairies - Stories and Legends.  Enjoy fairy stories and legends from across the British Isles and meet some of the fairies who inhabit the world.  A talk by Jane Piper


September -  “Maps Exhibition” - Many of our maps which are rarely seen will be on display. There will be an opportunity to see some conservation work in progress. Exact dates will be advised shortly.


Sunday, 27th September - Rayleigh Town Walk - Hear about the Bathchair Murder, Peculiar People, Rayleigh's listed buildings etc.  Led by Mike Davies - Meet outside the Museum at 91 High Street, Rayleigh at 10:30am - Limit 15 people per walk. Approx 2 hours including Museum visit and refreshments. £6.00 for Friends of the Museum and £8.00 for non Friends. Sunday, 27th September at 2.30pm -  “Lord Chancellor Richard Rich - Villain or Loyal Servant” a talk by Laura Adkins to promote her new book on Lord Rich.

Sunday, 1st November - A talk by Jane Piper and Laura Adkins - "Essex Myths and Legends".


Sunday, 15th November - “Stories from Colditz” a talk by Dave Windle. Dave will tell us of the many attempted escapes and other fascinating facts from this WW2 prison.


Sunday 29th November - "Ghost Stories" - A talk by Jane Piper with more ghostly tales.


December - "A Tudor Christmas" 


Sunday, 13th December - Our Christmas Quiz is back - more details will follow.
